Out of the 3 playable itallian factions in medeival 2 only 1 100% returns in the 1700 campagin, The previouly unplayable Papel States returns but renamed the Itallian States, Sicily is an emergant minor faction (little to no chance of emerging) along with being in the America's Grand Campagin as a minor faction, and Tuscany was gonna be a minor faction but got cut, Vencie in the 1700s was not as influencial as they were in medeival times, They were most notable for being merchants bringing trade that originated from China to europe, through the Ottoman Empire. 's included as a playable faction, same as portugal which is only important for some colonies. Like for example several italian factions.īesides that, Sweden has never had any important role in history, not back then, not today. The basic campaign would be much more fun if players could play it from more " minor " factions point of views. However, do some research on italian culture and influence of power back in the days, you will find plenty of sources that can back up the sense of italy being involved in at least the campaign.

They just don't fit the critera for being a major power in the game, which is why the itallian states in the game have been rendered minor factions which historically they were minor.

None of the Itallian states did anything relevent enough to get them a campagin, They only made the nations that did anything notable in ETW's time period playable.
